Discover Indonesia beyond Bali on this Luxury Indonesian Island-Hopping Tour: Komodo, Flores, Sumba, Lombok & Nusa Penida – 23 Days 22 Nights. This carefully planned journey connects five remarkable island destinations in one seamless adventure. It combines private land tours, a Komodo liveaboard, traditional villages, volcanic landscapes, tropical beaches, and luxury stays.
Your 23-day Indonesian island-hopping tour begins in Bali with a direct flight to Labuan Bajo. From there, sail through Komodo National Park, travel overland across Flores to Ende, explore the cultural heart of Sumba, and continue to Lombok and Nusa Penida. Finally, return to Bali for five relaxing days filled with cultural discoveries and beautiful scenery.
This private Indonesia tour offers the perfect balance of adventure and comfort. Moreover, we arrange domestic flights, boats, private transportation, selected accommodation, and experienced local guides. Therefore, you can explore each destination without worrying about complicated travel connections.
This luxury journey introduces you to the natural beauty and living traditions of eastern Indonesia. Each island offers a different experience, from Komodo’s rugged coastlines and Flores’ volcanic highlands to Sumba’s ancestral villages and Lombok’s peaceful beaches.
Unlike a standard Bali holiday, this tour takes you far beyond the usual tourist routes. You will cross dramatic landscapes, meet local communities, observe rare wildlife, and snorkel in clear tropical waters. At the same time, comfortable accommodation and carefully arranged transfers make the journey enjoyable from beginning to end.
The adventure starts with a direct flight from Bali to Labuan Bajo, the gateway to Komodo National Park. After arriving, you will prepare for a three-day, two-night liveaboard experience through one of Indonesia’s most spectacular marine regions.
Labuan Bajo has developed into a popular luxury travel destination. However, the surrounding islands still offer wild landscapes, quiet bays, and pristine coral reefs. The harbor provides the ideal starting point for exploring the UNESCO-listed Komodo National Park.
Board a comfortable Komodo liveaboard and sail between dramatic islands surrounded by turquoise water. During the three-day cruise, explore the national park’s most famous natural attractions.
Climb to the panoramic viewpoint on Padar Island, relax at Pink Beach, and join a ranger-guided trek to observe Komodo dragons in their natural habitat. In addition, snorkel at beautiful locations such as Manta Point, Taka Makassar, Siaba Island, or Manjarite.
Evenings aboard the boat offer another memorable experience. Enjoy the peaceful sea, watch the sunset behind the islands, and sleep in a private air-conditioned cabin. The exact route may change according to weather, currents, and national park regulations.
After completing the Komodo cruise, continue with a private four-day overland journey from Labuan Bajo to Ende. This scenic route reveals the cultural and natural heart of Flores Island.
Travel through mountain roads, green rice fields, coffee plantations, and traditional villages. Along the way, discover the distinctive customs of Flores communities and admire the island’s constantly changing landscapes.
Depending on the final route, highlights may include Ruteng, the spiderweb-shaped rice fields of Cancar, traditional villages around Bajawa, hot springs, and the volcanic scenery near Moni. The journey ends in the Ende region, close to Kelimutu National Park.
An early visit to the famous Kelimutu crater lakes can also form part of the Flores experience. These three volcanic lakes display different colors due to natural mineral activity, making Kelimutu one of Indonesia’s most fascinating geological attractions.
From Flores, continue by domestic flight to Sumba for a private five-day cultural and nature tour. Sumba feels very different from Indonesia’s better-known holiday islands. Its wide savannahs, traditional hilltop settlements, and megalithic tombs create a powerful sense of place.
Visit authentic Sumbanese villages with distinctive high-roofed houses and learn about the island’s ancestral Marapu traditions. You may also see skilled artisans producing handwoven ikat textiles using techniques passed down through generations.
Beyond its cultural heritage, Sumba offers waterfalls, rolling hills, hidden lagoons, and long beaches. Selected luxury resorts and boutique accommodation provide a comfortable base while preserving the island’s peaceful atmosphere.
After exploring Sumba, fly onward to Lombok for a four-day private tour. Lombok combines mountain scenery, Sasak culture, quiet beaches, waterfalls, and traditional villages.
Explore the island’s scenic interior, visit local communities, and discover the craftsmanship of the Sasak people. Depending on your interests, the program may include Tetebatu’s rice terraces, the waterfalls near Mount Rinjani, southern Lombok’s beaches, or the traditional villages of Sade and Ende.
Lombok offers a more relaxed atmosphere than Bali. Therefore, it provides the perfect transition between the cultural journey through eastern Indonesia and the final tropical experiences in Nusa Penida and Bali.
Continue from Lombok to Nusa Penida for two days of dramatic coastal scenery and marine adventure. The island is famous for its towering cliffs, hidden beaches, clear bays, and colorful coral gardens.
Explore iconic locations such as Kelingking Beach, Broken Beach, Angel’s Billabong, Diamond Beach, and Atuh Beach. You can also join a private snorkeling trip to Manta Point, Crystal Bay, Gamat Bay, and other selected snorkeling sites.
A two-day stay allows more time to experience Nusa Penida without rushing. Moreover, spending the night on the island offers a quieter atmosphere after the day-trip crowds return to Bali.
The final part of this 23-day Indonesian island tour includes five days in Bali. After exploring remote islands and rugged landscapes, Bali provides the ideal setting for cultural sightseeing, relaxation, and luxury accommodation.
Visit artistic Ubud, ancient temples, green rice terraces, traditional villages, and beautiful waterfalls. Depending on your preferences, the Bali tour can also include Jatiluwih, Kintamani, Mount Batur, Tirta Gangga, Uluwatu, or the peaceful beaches of southern Bali.
The schedule can combine guided excursions with free time. Therefore, you can enjoy spa treatments, fine dining, shopping, or simply relax before your international departure.
The Luxury Indonesian Island-Hopping Tour connects Komodo, Flores, Sumba, Lombok, Nusa Penida, and Bali in one carefully coordinated itinerary. Instead of arranging separate flights, hotels, boats, and guides, you can enjoy a complete travel package managed by an experienced Indonesian tour operator.
