Wakatobi Marine National Park is famous for its underwater paradise. The coral reefs are full of life, and the variety of fish is stunning. You might see a Picasso Trigger Fish or even a lurking Hammerhead Shark. Schools of manta rays glide overhead, while lobsters, starfish, and sea cucumbers decorate the ocean floor. With over 45 dive spots, there is always something new to explore. More sites are still being discovered, so every dive can be a unique experience.
If you’re not a diver, snorkeling is a great way to enjoy Wakatobi’s colorful coral reefs. The water is clear, so you can easily see the beauty beneath the surface.
When you need a break from diving or snorkeling, you can watch dolphins and whales in their natural habitat. Dolphins and pilot whales often follow boats, playing in the waves. Sometimes, you may spot larger whales like sperm or gray whales. Their high-pitched clicks and squeaks make the experience even more special.
Try sailing a small dugout canoe with a bamboo mast and a plastic sail. It’s a fun challenge because you must steer with a paddle and keep the canoe from capsizing. Be ready to bail out water constantly, as these boats are quite leaky! Perfect for 2–3 people at a time.
Visit a traditional market, historic fort, and Bajo sea nomad village on stilts. See how locals farm seaweed and weave traditional Wakatobi fabric. Stop by a holy spring, believed to bring youthfulness and good luck.
Enjoy a cultural evening with traditional music and dance. Colorfully dressed performers play instruments and drum rhythms. Guests are welcome to join the dance, making it a great way to experience Wakatobi culture.
Arrive at Matahora Wangi-Wangi Airport, then transfer to the hotel/resort. After lunch, visit Old Fort Liya, a traditional market, Toliamba Hill, Kontamale Water Cave, and Sumbu Village. Return to the hotel for dinner.
After breakfast, take a boat to Matahora Island for snorkeling. The island is known for its white sandy beaches and marine life. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach, then return to the resort for a free evening.
Leave early for dolphin watching, then snorkel at the Waha dive spot. After a picnic lunch, try a Discovery Dive—perfect for beginners. Later, visit a sacred spring before heading back to the resort.
Take a boat to Hoga Island, another top snorkeling and diving destination. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach, then return to the resort for a free evening.
Have breakfast, check out, and transfer to the airport for your next destination. End of program.
