About this activity

Embark on a 3-day, 2-night jungle adventure to discover Sumatran orangutans and vibrant wildlife. Begin by trekking through lush rainforests, crossing rivers, and exploring hidden trails. Along the way, spot orangutans swinging through trees and other animals in their natural habitat. After a rewarding day, camp under the stars and enjoy local meals prepared by your guides. Wake up to the sounds of nature and continue your journey deeper into the jungle. Finally, end with a relaxing river tubing experience, creating memories to last a lifetime.

Day 1: Arrival and Journey to Bukit Lawang

When you arrive at Kualanamu Airport or from your Medan hotel, we will pick you up for a three-hour drive to Bukit Lawang. This charming village sits at the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park, a vast rainforest covering over 800,000 hectares. The park is home to incredible wildlife, including Sumatran orangutans, tigers, and elephants. After checking into your hotel, which we arranged for you, take some time to relax and prepare for the exciting adventure ahead.

Day 2: Jungle Trekking and Camp Experience

After breakfast, you will begin your jungle trek into Gunung Leuser National Park. The day includes a 6-7 hour trek through the rainforest, offering chances to see orangutans, gibbons, and hornbills. The paths can be steep, but the rewarding sights make it worth the effort. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild, and learn about the flora and fauna from your guide. When you reach the campsite, assist in setting up camp and join in cooking dinner over a fire. Afterward, relax under the stars, enjoying games, snacks, and jungle stories before a restful night.

Day 3: Morning in the Jungle and Return

Wake up to the peaceful sounds of the jungle and enjoy a light snack with tea or coffee. Spend the morning relaxing, swimming, or soaking in the beauty of the rainforest. After lunch, the trek concludes as you return to your accommodation. For an extra thrill, opt for river tubing before we drive you back to Medan or Kualanamu Airport, completing your unforgettable journey.
