In and around Canggu "Selamat Datang di Pulau Bali...! That’s ‘Welcome to Bali’ in Indonesian. Today you will be picked up from Denpasar airport, where our driver will meet you and escort you to our hotel in Canggu. There, you’ll meet your group leader, who will show you around and give you all the pro tips about Bali. The rest of the day is yours to relax by the pool, use the gym, hang by the beach or simply head out to explore Canggu itself. In the evening, we will all get together for a group welcome dinner and drinks so we can get acquainted.
Now you’ve got to know your group, it’s time to get accustomed to Balinese Culture. We'll start by visiting the magnificent Tanah Lot temple which is built on impressive rock formations in the sea. After exploring this beauty, we’ll channel our inner surfer and catch some waves with help from our awesome surf instructors. They’ll have you standing up in no time! We’ll then meet for sunset, with a cold drink in hand, to enjoy the first of many epic sunsets! Then it's time to experience the famous Canggu nightlife.
Next stop! Paradise! Also known as Nusa Lembongan, this is the first of many islands awaiting our footprints. Once we’ve checked-in to our stunning beachfront accommodation, we’ll explore Dream Beach, which to be honest, is all in the name really! We’ll relax and work on our tans before walking to Devil’s Tears, an awesome tide pool, where we can see the sunset while the waves crash over the rocky coves. Once back to the hotel, we’ll dine on the beachfront and then sit under the stars as we share stories around the warm glow of a beach bonfire.
We're off to Nusa Penida! We’ll start by exploring the waters as we snorkel around the islands. Weather permitting, we’ll head to the famous Manta Point to see, you guessed it, manta rays! Once on land, we’ll visit a truly special and unique temple, Pura Goa Giri Putri. After squeezing through the secret entrance, we’ll be amazed at the underground network of temples hidden within the caves. Then we’ll go to the famously stunning Atuh and Diamond Beach and finish on Kelingking Beach. Make sure you charge your phones - you’ll be taking a lot of pictures.
In and around Ubud Today, we’ll head back to Bali to experience the cultural heart that is Ubud. Remember 'Eat Pray Love'? Well this is where the Love happens and we know you’re going to love it here! Once we arrive, we’ll have time to enjoy our beautiful accommodation before getting to know the local residents…the monkeys! We’ll meander through the Sacred Monkey Forest, marvelling at the ancient temples within and we’ll be able to get up close and personal with the monkeys. If you’re feeling brave, you can even grab a selfie with them.
This morning, we’ll give ourselves a caffeine boost at one of the local Coffee Plantations and find out why they have the most expensive coffee in the world. You may be surprised but that’s just how they brew it! Afterwards, it's Lights. Camera. Swing. Welcome to the home of the famous Bali Swings and picture-perfect rice terraces. We’ll wander through the emerald green, enjoy some lunch and a coconut, and spend the afternoon soaking in the scenery from beautiful infinity pools that overlook the terraces.
Pack your books and pens; we’re going back to school! We’ll visit a local primary school for the unique opportunity to spend time with the students. There we can play and let them practise their English. Then we’ll cool off with a quick dip in one of Bali's most famous waterfalls. Afterwards, explore the streets and your wallets at the local markets. You’re guaranteed to pick up some presents for friends, family or even just a treat for yourself. Sadly, it may be the last evening for some so we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner and celebrate the best trip of your life.
In and around Gili Trawangan It's time to say goodbye to those leaving, but for us remaining groupies, hold tight, as we journey to the glorious Gili Islands! Take this time to slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet here in Gili Trawangan…well…during the daytime anyway! There are no cars or scooters, just the sound of the ocean, so enjoy some much needed R&R. Then saddle up and get on your bike! We’ll stop to watch the sunset from the best spot on the island and you can take turns posing on the famous Gili Swing. Then it’s time to dress up and get your groove on, island style.
Today, we'll explore some of the best snorkelling spots around Indonesia! You can jump straight off the boat and see underwater statues, stunning coral and the reason why we are all here…turtles! If you want to go deeper, we can also help arrange a PADI dive so you can really get up close and personal! We’ll stop for lunch in Gili Air and have time to see the island before heading back for dinner, where we’ll chow down on some traditional food and the catch of the day at the famous Night Markets. Tasty.
This morning - no alarms and nowhere to be! That’s what it’s all about! Enjoy some free time to chill by the pool, get stuck in a good book or enjoy a really long lie in! For lunch, we’ll have a chance to enjoy the local cuisine first hand at our very own cooking class. We'll learn how to create traditional dishes, both sweet and savoury, with expert guidance from start to finish, but the best part? You get to eat all of your creations! Yum! Once we’ve devoured all that deliciousness, we’ll have time to catch some rays before we see what’s on tonight in Gili T.
Today we’ll take a short boat ride to Lombok and drive south to Kuta. It’s definitely more laidback here which may be a welcome change from the party lifestyle of Gili T! So, we’ll be able to nurse our hangovers and spend the next few days enjoying our stunning accommodation and the secrets of Lombok. Before the sun starts to set, we’ll head to one of the best spots on the island and reminisce over all our adventures. We can even buy locally made friendship bracelets to always remember our Wanderlands family!
This one is for all you waterfall lovers as we venture deep into the Lombok jungle. En route, we'll have a rare and privileged chance to see how the local Sasak tribe live. We’ll immerse ourselves in the old community and learn all about their traditional customs. Afterwards, we’ll head to the foot of Mt Rinjani where we’ll first see Benang Stokel, a twin waterfall standing at an impressive 30m. Then Benang Kelambu, a beautiful veil of water flowing straight from the greenery! Once back, we’ll have our final dinner and drinks together…I’m not crying, you are.
Let’s look back on all the good times over our last breakfast together. The trip may be over but you'll have memories that will last a lifetime. Whatever your next step is, you can discuss any onward travel plans you might have, or be interested in, with our expert Group Leaders who will make your trip home, or the rest of your travels, awesome. Without you, it wouldn’t be possible...here’s to all the good times and to our Wanderlands family! We lived together, we loved together and we travelled together! Until we meet again…
