Kelingking Beach is a secluded and scenic beach located in the village of Bunga Mekar on the southwestern coast of Nusa Penida Island, Indonesia. It is known for its unique limestone headland formation which looks like T-Rex’s head, hence it is often referred as T-Rex Bay of Bali. The beach can be accessed by a steep 400-meter hike during low tide, which requires some rock-climbing skills, especially on the way back up. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the secluded beach but it depends on tide conditions and the currents can be strong and lifeguards don’t patrol the beach. It’s a good idea to bring a camera, good pair of shoes, plenty of drinking water, and it can be combined with a visit to Pura Paluang Temple, which is about 650 metres east of the beach and is known for its shrines in the shape of cars.

When to Visit Kelingking Beach: Kelingking Beach is a popular tourist destination and can get crowded during the day when organized tours are operating. To avoid crowds, it is best to visit early in the morning before the first tour arrives around 9 am or in the late afternoon after 4 pm when most tours have finished. Another great time to visit is during sunset, as the spot will be less crowded and the lighting can be spectacular. Keep in mind that the beach is closed at night.
