These islands are popular destinations for tourists, most of whom depart from Bali to the Gili Islands. Gili Trawangan is the largest and most popular of the 3 Gilis, thanks to its well-established infrastructure that predates the other two islands in the group. Each island has several small resorts laid out neatly, usually consisting of a collection of tourist huts, small pools, and restaurants.

Most of the local population live on Trawangan in settlements that stretch along its east side just inland. Automobile and motorized vehicle traffic is prohibited on the islands by local regulations, so the preferred method of transport is walking and cycling or horse-drawn carriages. The main beach near the harbor brings you closer to the ‘waste’ style nightlife, while the secluded west coast offers peace and quiet for honeymooners and couples alike.

Gili Snorkeling

There are some spectacular underwater sights in the Gili Islands: but to see them, you’ll need our boat guide. This tour delivers the boat just for you in a small group, without lunch. We provide free bottled water on the boat. You’ll snorkel on a submerged scooter off the coast of Gili Trawangan, then head to Gili Meno to visit the colorful coral reefs, where sea turtles are often seen, and the Jason de Caires Taylor Nest Statue, an eerie circle of human statues encrusted with coral.

Gili Nanggu Snorkeling

A day trip to Gili Nanggu, Gili Kedis, and Gili Sudak, a different Indonesia! No traffic, and no vendors, but just unexploited nature and plenty of tropical fish. It takes 1,5 hours to drive from Senggigi by private van to reach Tawun, the fishermen’s village in Sekotong, southwest of Lombok. From here our guide will organize the private boat charter including the snorkeling gear for you and your group only.
